Tottenham Hotspur are on fire right now.

An excellent start in the Premier League has seen the north London side move up to third in the table after picking up 14 points from seven appearances so far.

In addition, things are looking good on the continent.

Two wins from three games in Europa League Group J has put them in prime position to advance - something that Jose Mourinho will be very happy about.

The latest result was a 3-1 victory over Ludogorets on Thursday night where goals from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso made the difference.

Lo Celso grabbed a goal and an assist in an important performance, but according to Mourinho he needs to improve his fitness for everyone to see how 'amazing' he can be.

Assessing Lo Celso's performance, Mourinho said: "Good with the ball and not very good without the ball. His physical condition is not good. He didn't have a pre-season.

"During the lockdown during the previous season he had problems - he didn't train in that period when other guys were training so he has been up and down in his preparation. So he's been coming now, step by step.

"I feel that when he plays he's not the Gio that we know, not the Gio that we know that he can be an amazing player. But with the ball of course great criteria and he knows what he's doing of course, and understands the way we want to play. But we need more intensity to be fitter, to be more intense and to be stronger in the transitions.

"But of course he played more than an hour, and for that hour of course was a football match that we needed to win but it was also let's say a training session to improve his match fitness."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

There's no doubting the quality of Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentine midfielder is a particular favourite of Jose Mourinho due to his technical ability and excellent work rate in midfield.

Unfortunately his fitness isn't quite where it should be.

That's through no fault of his own, but Mourinho knows that he must work to get his star man back to his best.

After all, when Lo Celso is firing on all cylinders he's one of the best in the Premier League.
