The boxing legend, now 54, has refused to rule out taking on either Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury in what would be an incredible turn of events. He suffered a sixth round defeat in his last fight, against Irishman Kevin McBride, and swiftly retired from the sport, citing that he did not “have the stomach for this no more”.However, ‘Iron Mike’ has been motivated by preparations for his one-off exhibition fight against Jones Jr., which is due to take place on November 28.The bout will take place over eight two-minute rounds, and many bookmakers have slated Tyson as the favourite to be victorious. If he does succeed, a blockbuster fight with Fury or Joshua may not be out of the question, with Fury having reportedly been offered £10m by ESPN in the past to fight Tyson.Speaking to Jim Gray on the potential of fighting one of boxing’s top heavyweights, he said: “Man, that would be a novelty.

Me using my skills, matching my skills now against the best heavyweights in the world, that would be mind-boggling.

In recent weeks, Tyson’s Instagram feed has been littered with high-intensity training videos, with the 54-year-old seemingly in top shape ahead of his return fight.

His trainer Rafael Cordeiro has worked extensively in MMA, training former champions Wanderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua.

And Tyson says that age is not a factor as he prepares to go the full distance on fight night if required.

He explained: “Old guys, that word don’t even make sense. Old? This is just a new time, a new thinking period in our lives.

“This is what we want to do. Sometimes the gods of war, they revive you and say, ‘You have to do more.’

“Now I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t prepare for this. You know, I box people to see if I’m able to do this stuff, so I can do this stuff.

“[My skills are] good enough for this. Good enough to go eight rounds. I’m exerting myself, and this is going to be pretty interesting.”
