Everton welcome Manchester United to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon in a massive Premier League clash.

The Toffees started the season brilliantly, but poor results in the last few weeks have seen them slip to fifth.

They could move back to the summit of the Premier League with a victory against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, though.

One man they will be hoping to perform is James Rodriguez.

The Colombian has started the season brilliantly since making the move from Real Madrid in the summer.

He missed last week's loss against Newcastle but he is expected to return against United.

The 29-year-old could have been lining up for Saturday's game in a red shirt.

That's because former United scout Jose Margoya is believed to be a huge admirer of James. But United dismissed his reports.

Margoya's colleague, Marcelo Teixeira, who worked for United South America, revealed his feelings in an interview with the Telegraph.

“Jose Mayorga, was a big fan of James," he said, per Goal.

"Mayorga always included James’ name in his reports, but the evaluation from the club was that his playing style didn’t suit the Premier League."

GIVEMESPORT'S JAMES STROUD SAYS:

That looks to be a quite ridiculous assessment from United.

James has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.

He's already managed three goals and three assists in his opening six Premier League games.

His creativity has taken to Everton to the next level. A major reason for their success this season is because of his introduction.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has benefitted massively from James and would not have scored eight goals in seven Premier League games without him.

You can see just how important James is to this Everton side by their performance against Newcastle last week.

He missed the game through injury and Carlo Ancelotti's side looked a shadow of the team they were in the opening weeks of the season.

According to stats accrued by Whocored.com, he's been the third best player in England's top tier so far this season.

The good news for the Toffees is that he has overcome his injury and is likely to start at United.

I wouldn't be surprised if he shines and shows the Red Devils exactly what they missed out on.
