Floyd 'Money' Mayweather lived up to his nickname earlier this week when he won a £150k bet on an NFL match, watching the game from the Circa in Las Vegas.

The former five-weight world champion placed the wager on the Green Bay Packers to overcome San Francisco 49ers, which they did with ease, 34-17. This meant that Mayweather earned an impressive £126k profit from the bet.

The Circa is a luxurious venue which contains swimming pools by a bar, waitresses wearing bikini's, and large screens for everyone to watch the latest sports action.

The 43-year-old appeared to be more focused on the latter, with the undefeated boxer being photographed standing watching the NFL clash intently.

Following the win, a clearly delighted Mayweather filmed himself celebrating the victory by driving in his red Chevrolet Super Sport car, having left his winnings on the passenger's seat for all to see.

It appears that Mayweather is continuing to earn large sums of money, and the American fighter recently reiterated that he has no intention of returning to face boxing's latest crop of champions.

Speaking to CNN, he said: "I'm 100 per cent sure that I'm not fighting against any boxer anymore.

"So, that's out of the question. I mean, just my faculties mean a lot to me.

"Money don't make me, I make money and my health is more important than money."

Mayweather has retired before, though, only to change his mind at a later date. One example of that was when he ended a two-year hiatus from the ring to fight Conor McGregor in 2017.

The boxing superstar triumphed in that contest to move to 50-0, and he has confirmed that he is still willing to showcase his skills against MMA fighters, as well as laying on exhibitions for the fans.

"As far as me doing exhibitions and me fighting MMA guys, will I do that in a boxing ring? Absolutely," he said.

We look forward to that, but based on Friday night's betting success he will not be in need of a payday anytime soon.
