Tottenham's off-field business was excellent this summer.

The additions of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Joe Hart, Carlos Vinicius, Joe Rodon - and of course a statement signing in Gareth Bale - have added real depth to Jose Mourinho's side.

Daniel Levy will also be preoccupied with keeping the remnants of Mauricio Pochettino's old set-up, particularly in-form attacking duo Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

The pair have combined for nine goals in the Premier League this season and with 29 overall since the South Korean joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, they are on course to become one of the division's most lethal partnerships of all time.

Nobody has ever doubted the England captain's importance to the north Londoners, but Son is also set to be rewarded for his incredible form this term.

Last month, Football Insider reported that the 28-year-old is set to be offered a new contract worth £60 million in total.

And former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor insists it's vital that Spurs take action to keep a forward worthy of a place at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“Son is the best player in the Premier League, for me, by a country mile,” he told Football Insider.

“If I was Tottenham I’d be putting down on a contract on whatever he wants, just to get him signed on because he can go to any club in the world.

“At any club in the world he’d be starting, we’re talking Liverpool, Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona he’s that good.

“Spurs will know that, Jose will know that, Daniel Levy will know that so I’m sure they’ll tie him down and he’ll be one of the highest earners for sure.”

It's a bold claim from Agbonlahor to put Son on such a pedestal as the "best player in the Premier League", but he is the top flight's leading goalscorer - tied with Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin - on eight goals and is averaging a goal every 69 minutes.

Tottenham return to action this afternoon against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
