When Jose Mourinho fielded an attack of Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son against a West Brom side struggling to keep clean sheets, you feared the worst for the Baggies. Before a ball had even been kicked, it looked as though Albion were in trouble, especially in a week where Slaven Bilic's job was reportedly under threat.Yet, against all odds, they kept the score at 0-0 - for 88 minutes anyway. That was before goalkeeper Sam Johnstone got caught in two minds, which allowed Harry Kane freedom to head home from Matt Doherty's teasing ball in.From an attacking perspective, this was a poor performance from Spurs, especially from Son who has been red hot all season. This, then, was probably his worst display of the campaign so far. However, Spurs still won, and in doing so they went top of the Premier League. Mourinho has certainly accomplished a lot so far in 2020/21. Spurs beat West BromFrom a defensive standpoint on Sunday afternoon, Spurs were brilliant and they owed that to both Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld. However, some supporters thought it was the former who stood out over the Belgian. This is what supporters had to say about Dier on Twitter.

You can certainly see why Spurs fans thought he was sublime and outstanding.

During the course of the 90 minutes, Dier won six aerial duels - a 100% record - and made seven clearances.

As well as that, the England international wasn't dribbled past on a single occasion and completed 75% of his passes.

West Brom had just two shots on target so it wasn't a particularly troublesome afternoon defensively for Dier but he did all of the simple things excellently.

Usually trusted in a midfield position, the 26-year-old has bounced back superbly this season. Back in July, he was banned for four games after entering the crowd but there is a renewed focus about his play this term.

Having played in all but one Premier League game this season, it's some turnaround for Dier who only managed 15 starts in the 2019/20 top-flight.
