The 2020/21 Premier League season has thrown up some bizarre results.Leicester going to Manchester City and beating them 5-2. Champions Liverpool being humiliated 7-2 by Aston Villa.Well, there was another one on Sunday afternoon and, once again, Aston Villa inflicted it.This time, it was on Arsenal at the Emirates.Dean Smith’s side had won their opening four matches before two defeats in their last two against Leeds and Southampton.Following Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Manchester United last weekend, the Gunners would have fancied their chances at home to Villa. But, after just 45 seconds, they could have been behind.John McGinn smashed the ball home from Jack Grealish’s cross but Ross Barkey was adjudged to be in an offside position as he stood in front of Bernd Leno. It was a harsh decision. But the away side won’t care about that now. That's because they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners anyway.Their opener came courtesy of a Bukayo Saka own goal as he turned in Matt Target's low cross into the back of his net.The second one was brilliant. Douglas Luiz played a superb cross-field pass, Barkley produced an incredible left-footed volleyed cross and Ollie Watkins headed home.Watkins then made it 3-0 just three minutes later as Grealish slipped him in and he finished through the legs of Leno.

What an awful result for Arsenal, who must have taken so much encouragement from their performance at Old Trafford last week.

As for Villa, they're now up to sixth with a game in hand of all the teams above them and just three points behind leaders Leicester. They're back in the title race...
