In an increasingly-odd sporting calendar, The Masters 2020 is set to get underway in the middle of November as opposed to its regular timing of early April, but here's all the information you'll need to keep up with one of golf's premier events.

Tiger Woods returns to compete for what would be his sixth green jacket and his second in a row after a fairytale victory last year, which saw him win by one stroke ahead of three runners-up.

However, golf's greatest isn't the favourite this year, with most bookies having him at around 40/1, whereas Americans Bryson Dechambeau and Dustin Johnson lead the field.

For an in-depth look at all of the major players at Augusta this year, including how the bookies rate their game and the form ahead of Thursday, take a look at GiveMeSport's preview here.

When does it start

The Masters will begin on Thursday, November 12, with the first round live from 6pm, although there will be featured groups shown from 12:30, and the tournament runs through to Sunday 15. Originally scheduled for April 9-12, this is the first time the event will run in the autumn.

Speaking to ESPN, Rory McIlroy said: “[There is] a lot more Bermuda [grass] in the fairways and in the surrounds of the greens.

"That’s going to make things very interesting around the greens. Chipping will be a lot trickier.”

Where is the course

The Masters once again takes place at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. It will be the 84th time the tournament has run at this venue.

This year, in keeping with the peculiarity of the timing, the course is set to be dressed in an orange cloak, guaranteed to give the course a unique feel.
