The title race looks set to be a rollercoaster this season.

On Friday night, Southampton went top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

By Sunday afternoon, Tottenham had replaced them thanks to Harry Kane's late winner at West Brom.

Within less than an hour, Leicester City surged into the lead against Wolves and top spot changed hands yet again.

Unfortunately, going top at this early stage of the season still means relatively little.

Yet it's still a moment to relish, particularly for sides like Southampton who won't be too used to the giddy heights of supremacy.

In fact, Sky Sports have worked out how long it's been since every club enjoyed dominion over the rest of the table. Of course, we're not just talking about the Premier League, but dating back to the old Division One.

When was every club last top?

We've made a few tweaks in lieu of the weekend's action.

The last time Wolves were top of the table, the Beatles had only just played their first live gig.

And as for Crystal Palace, Margaret Thatcher had only just become Prime Minister the last time the Eagles truly hit the heights.

But the real surprises lay further down the list.

It's hard to believe that it's over a year since Manchester City last sat top following such a sustained period of dominance under Pep Guardiola, but it just goes to show how far ahead Liverpool were last season.

Chelsea and Manchester United haven't hit what was once a familiar peak for over two years, either.

The bigger question is who will be top when May rolls around. Liverpool are the current favourites, but judging by how an unpredictable season has unfolded so far, it's anyone's guess.
