With so much going on at Sheffield Wednesday following the initial news their points deduction would be halved and then the sacking of Garry Monk, plenty can slip under the radar.

Indeed, there are suggestions Phil Neville could make the switch to mens football and take the reigns alongside other claims that owner Dejphon Chansiri is in talks with three candidates.

In his own update, noted journalist Alan Nixon provided further insight into the situation of one of them.

With Tony Pulis thought to be one of the men holding talks with the Owls about the vacant managerial post, Nixon has revealed a touch more on their reported chase.

According to the Sun journalist, Pulis would neither come 'easy' or 'cheap', potentially throwing up issues should Wednesday attempt to make him their manager.

Out of work since leaving Middlesbrough in 2019, Sky Sports claimed the 62-year-old had told friends and family that he needed more time away from the game back in July after being linked with a return to Bristol City.

A vastly experienced coach, Pulis would seemingly represent a reasonably safe option in terms of steadying the ship when you consider the likes of Neville or Sol Campbell (another name linked) have never worked in the Championship before.

Still, with that standing appears to comes a certain price and it's unclear as to whether or not the club would be keen to shell out given their current situation.

Furthermore, The Athletic do cite fan unrest in terms of the club's style of play under Monk and, with Pulis hardly renowned for his eye-catching brand of football, perhaps a move for him would be unwise on that basis.
