The Masters is second to the U.S Open with regards to the purse and the winner’s share, and someone will be taking home quite the payout to end 2020 on a high.Tiger Woods will be looking for his second consecutive and sixth overall Masters title following last year’s captivating display.The American won the 2019 Masters with a score of 13-under 275, finishing just above his compatriots Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka.It will not be easy for Woods, as the likes of Johnson, Koepka, Patrick Reed (2018 Masters champion), Bryson DeChambeua and more look set to challenge Woods for his crown.Along with a championship title, quite the payout awaits those who rank towards the top. Even those who finish in the lower half of the tournament’s rankings look set to take home some decent cash.Marc Leishman and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, who were the two lowest ranked golfers at last year’s Masters, took home $32,430. This evidently shows how lucrative the tournament truly is.

The purse for this year’s Masters sits at $11.5 million, the same as last year’s total. The Master’s purse is just $1 million less than the U.S Open, which took place in September.

With quite the pool of prize money for participating golfers, Woods and other title challengers will also have their eyes on the winner’s payout.

This year’s champion will win $2.07 million, the same amount that Woods took home last year.

Johnson, Koepka and Xander Schauffele, last year’s runners-up, took home $858,667 for their trouble. Not a bad day at the office at all for the three, second-place Americans.

Woods has taken home a total of $9.49 million at The Masters, and will be looking to break the $10 million mark this weekend in Augusta.
