As the love for Kenny Dalglish continues after the Liverpool manager signed a permanent contract yesterday, Pepe Reina has given his best hint yet that he plans to stay at the Anfield club for the manager he admires so much.

"I am looking forward to next season," Reina told the Liverpool official website.

"We have had excellent news on Kenny's contract, [as well as] Steve Clarke's and all of the technical staff. We are heading in the right direction and we are optimistic.

Reina admitted there were doubts over whether he would stay at Liverpool after this season, but with Dalglish’s guidance, the star stopper is committed to the Anfield cause.

"Of course there was a bit of doubt back in December and January because we were not even close to where we are now,” Reina said.

"I think by making the right steps and taking them, we can all see the difference between now and then. That's why we are now optimistic about the future and are looking forward."

Dalglish has offered nothing but praise for Reina since the ex-Liverpool star took over the managerial role in January on a care taker basis.

“His distribution is fantastic for us. He sees things, he's sharp.,” Dalglish said.

"It's important that he can pass the ball for us.

“If the opposition close up he can hit it long and if they back off he can knock it short."

Now that Dalglish has signed as permanent manager, and Reina has committed his future to Liverpool, the side looks more bonded than ever as they fight for a Europa place this season.
