Boxing legend Mike Tyson has told Deontay Wilder to stop making excuses for his loss against Tyson Fury.

In an interview with ESPN, the 54-year-old spoke about the Bronze Bomber, saying: “When Wilder gets his head out of his butt, he is good.

“Wilder’s just got to stop internalising stuff, this guy is great."

Wilder lost the WBC heavyweight belt to the ‘Gypsy King’ Fury back in February via knockout in the seventh round.

Immediately after the fight, Wilder claimed the defeat was due to his 45lbs walkout attire he wore on his way to the ring.

Since then, Wilder has stated claims and possible excuses as to why he was dethroned by Fury earlier this year.

The 35-year-old heavyweight then revealed that he needed to undergo surgery on his bicep following an injury.

Wilder was then quiet for a period of time, before speaking out with a theory – accusing the Brit of cheating by “having something hard” in his glove for the fight.

There was a further claim from the American heavyweight about having his water ‘spiked’ leaving him with no control of his body in the bout with Fury.

Iron Mike had further words for Wilder to carry on fighting, saying: “Just keep on fighting.

“Fight him (Fury) again, fight him for a third time.

“Whenever you have an opportunity to fight for the title, he should fight.

“We can only do this for a certain amount of time in our life, and then we can’t do it anymore."

Although the original contract stated a trilogy fight between Wilder and Fury would take place, it looks as though it will no longer happen. Fury is set for his ‘UK homecoming’ on December 5 against Agit Kabayel, according to reports.

The Gypsy King is looking to set up a heavyweight clash with fellow UK boxer Anthony Joshua if both are victorious in their upcoming fights.

Meanwhile, Mike Tyson is currently preparing for his exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr., taking place in Los Angeles on November 28.
