England cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland last night.Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the goals to seal a comfortable win for Gareth Southgate's side at Wembley.Maguire headed home from a corner in the 18th minute, before Sancho made it two 13 minutes later, the Borussia Dortmund man displaying some clever footwork before firing low into the far corner.Calvert-Lewin was then handed the chance to grab his second England goal from the penalty spot after Arsenal's Bukayo Saka was fouled in the box.The Everton man duly obliged, firing his penalty high into the net in a manner befitting of Three Lions captain Harry Kane.
All in all, it was a very successful night for Southgate's side, one which saw Aston Villa star Jack Grealish dominate proceedings on only his second England start.The 25-year-old old started on the left-hand side of attack - with Mason Mount in central midfield - and the Birmingham-born playmaker took his opportunity by the scruff of the neck.Grealish assisted Sancho's goal and was electric throughout his 61 minutes on the pitch, creating more chances and completing more dribbles than any other player.

Ladies and gentlemen, England finally have the playmaker they've been crying out for since the start of Southgate's tenure.
What also caught the eye was the link-up between Grealish and Mount, the two proving that they can operate very effectively together, with the latter thriving in a deeper role.
Last night's performance may hopefully see Southgate opt for a less pragmatic central midfield pairing in future games, especially those against lower-level opposition.
However, with Raheem Sterling to return on the left-hand side of the attack, there would only be space for one of Grealish or Mount.
