Thursday November 12, 2020, will forever be remembered as a special night by all Scotland fans.
Steve Clark’s side went into their Euro 2020 play-off against Serbia as the underdogs.
They were away in Belgrade against a team which, on paper, looked dangerous. The likes of Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic all started for the hosts, while Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic came off the bench in the second half.
But Scotland’s incredible team spirit was clear for all to see and they took the lead through Ryan Christie in the 52nd minute.
As the seconds ticked down to the full-time whistle, though, the visitors were dealt a blow when Jovic netted a dramatic equaliser. Scotland fans watching on from home feared the worse.
No further goals were scored during a nervy 30-minute period of extra-time and so the tie was decided on penalties.
Scotland scored all five of their penalties, meaning Mitrovic had to score to keep Serbia’s Euro 2020 hopes alive.
The Fulham striker's miss sent the whole of Scotland into pandemonium.
Even Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, couldn’t contain her delight on social media.
Meanwhile, another famous Scot, Andy Murray, posted his own reaction video on his Instagram story.
The tennis star’s video was then uploaded to Twitter by a football fan, who cheekily captioned the clip: ‘would hate to be andy murray’s neighbours’.
You’ll see why when you watch the video…
Calm down, Andy!
The tweet has gone viral, receiving almost 9,000 retweets and more than 77,000 likes at the time of writing.
Here’s some of the best reaction to the video…
It’s worth pointing out that Murray may have been playing up to his ‘boring’ reputation with this reaction video.
The 33-year-old has a dry sense of humour and we suspect he knew full well what he was doing.
