It's fair to say things aren't exactly going to plan for Manchester City.
Stranded way down in tenth, Pep Guardiola's side have been described as looking like a 'one man team' and their xG per Premier League game has dipped from 2.06 last season to just 1.12 this time around.
With that in mind, it's of little surprise to see reports from Eurosport emerge in regards to Pep Guardiola's future.
According to the piece in question, a source close to the journalist revealed that the Spaniard had been noticeably more 'deflated' in recent times than at any point of his reign in charge of the club.
Given the struggles of this season and last, as well as another failed Champions League campaign, it's easy to see why the 49-year-old may have run out of steam. A notoriously intense individual, he has won every trophy in England at least once and has never stayed at a club this long as manager.
City, for their part, are understood to want him to stay but would like a decision by January in regards to whether or not he will extend the deal that runs out at the end of the season.
While holding Manchester City to the standards they've previously set is probably somewhat unfair, they do appear to be in a funk right now.
Unable to recapture some of the magic that saw them break all kinds of Premier League records, Guardiola's future cannot hang over the rest of their campaign.
Clearly, most teams in the world would want to keep a manager of such standing but with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Max Allegri still available, getting clarity on the matter is of the utmost importance.
