Liverpool's lengthy injury list is only growing larger and they now find themselves in a real spot of bother.

The Reds are without Virgil van Dijk for the rest of the season while Joe Gomez is facing a race against time to be fit for Euro 2020 after suffering a bad knee injury.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold will also be out for around a month after sustaining a calf problem against Manchester City last weekend.

With Fabinho out too, Jurgen Klopp will need to patch his defence together with Joel Matip and Andy Robertson presumably playing alongside two more inexperienced footballers.

With matches against Leicester, Wolves and Ajax to come in the next month, Liverpool will need to negotiate a tough period without some of their key men, players who were vital cogs in the side that won the Premier League last term.

But speaking of Wolves, their attack has been given a fresh revamp courtesy of Diogo Jota, a man who signed from the Midlands outfit for £41m in the summer.

He has been brilliant since pulling on the red jersey and already has a Champions League hat-trick to his name.

Diogo Jota

Liverpool could have signed another Wolves player in the summer, though. They were linked with a switch for Adama Traore, a man Nuno Santo's side valued at a ridiculous £135m. You can see why they went for Jota instead.

However, speaking to Goal recently, Alexander-Arnold swooned over Adama and what he can bring to a team. He said:

"It’s almost not human the way he can change direction and go. I’ve never felt so powerless against someone.

"People are faster than you, that’s inevitable, but you can get yourself in good positions, give yourself a head start and get yourself in the race. But with him, and with his power as well, there’s nothing you can really do.

"I remember last season when he came on at Anfield. He’s just turned and knocked it, and he was gone. I’ve never felt like that before! It has to be him, has to be."

Adama Traore

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Adama is one of the most frightening players in the top-flight and it's a testament to the way he plays that last season, he made the most successful dribbles per game in the entire division.

The Spaniard's end product has been the one thing that's let him down over the course of his career but he changed opinion in 2019/20 by laying on nine assists for his teammates and scoring four goals.

Adama Traore

Though, after failing to secure a move away in the summer, he's now been rather disappointing. The former Barcelona player hasn't scored or assisted in the league this term and it's now been reported that Wolves are growing frustrated with his contract situation.

Adama has reportedly agreed on a deal in principle but has yet to officially pen terms with final details still being discussed with his agent.

If a new contract can't be tied down, then perhaps Liverpool should finally make their move? After all, he more than caused a threat to Alexander-Arnold when they played last season.
