Radhi Jaidi has signed a new one-year contract with Southampton.

The 35-year-old Tunisian defender, who joined the Saints in 2009, played a major role in their successful promotion campaign last season and is now ready for a crack at the npower Championship.

"The target is to carry on the good work we have completed this season," he said.

"I feel a big part of that success and I want to carry that feeling on until next season.

"I will do the best I can as I always do, and try to help the team."

Jaidi left Tunisia in 2004 and made over 100 appearances for Bolton and Birmingham combined before joining the Saints.
