Everton are being linked with a summer move for Ivorian international defender Souleymane Bamba.

The Leicester City centre back has been impressive at the Walkers Stadium since arriving in January, and clubs across Europe have taken an interest in the powerful 26-year-old.

French publication L'Sport claims Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier has submitted a £2.6 million bid for the player, while Fulham and Marseille are also thought to be tracking the former Hibernian star.

David Moyes is eager to make additions this summer in a number of positions, and confirmed he would hold talks with chairman Bill Kenwright over available transfer funds at Goodison Park a couple of days ago.

“I hope to have the meeting soon to find out what route we can take and how we can go forward,” said the Everton boss.

Moyes is thought to want assurances on the futures of Jack Rodwell, Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, whilst also find out how much is available for additions at Everton in the window.
