Young Millwall striker John Marquis has signed a new three-year contract.

Boss Kenny Jackett has rewarded the 18-year-old for his fine recent form by tying him to The Den until the summer of 2014.

Marquis broke into the Lions' starting line-up towards the end of the season, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win at Scunthorpe and also netting in the 4-0 drubbing of Preston.

"Next season I want to push on and show the manager, the other players and the fans how good a player I really am," he said.

"I am very pleased to have signed a new contract because this is a special club."

Marquis scored his first of four goals this season with a crucial equaliser in the fourth minute of extra time in a 1-1 draw with Norwich in November.
