Rennes star Sylvian Marveaux has insisted no deal has been done with any club yet, but the 25-year-old has admitted he is set for England and will talk to various clubs, including front runners Liverpool, to decide where he will play next.
"I have not chosen. I have not yet signed. What is certain is that next season I will play in England," he told L'Equipe.
"I was able to resume training this week. I would have liked to train with my team-mates, but the club informed me that they did not want me to take part with the group.
"I enjoyed helping the club to a great season. I am disappointed at not being able to have one last match at the stadium.
“For 10 years, I gave what I had to give to Rennes.”
Marveaux has been connected with Liverpool on many occasions, and will leave on a free transfer this summer, allowing Kenny Dalglish to get the star for well under Liverpool’s transfer budget.
Marveaux will be visiting Merseyside when he heads to England for contract talks, according to L'Equipe. With Dalglish offering a plan for the club that includes challenging for trophies in the next 2-3 years, the Liverpool manager is confident that Marveaux will sign on with the club, despite the side not playing European football next season.
