Kylian Mbappe: Paris Saint-Germain star produces moment of magic vs Brest

Mauricio Pochettino earned his first win as Paris Saint-Germain manager on Saturday evening.

The French capital outfit won 3-0 at home against Brest courtesy of goals from Everton loanee Moise Kean, Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia.

The result puts PSG just one point shy of Lyon in top spot, and Pochettino will be hoping to use this result as a platform from which to mount a successful title challenge.

If Pochettino is to finally end his trophy drought and claim his first piece of silverware in management, then he'll need Kylian Mbappe to be firing on all cylinders.

Following the Argentine's first game in charge of the Ligue 1 giants last week, which ended 1-1 against Claude Puel's St. Etienne, Pochettino claimed that Mbappe needs to improve, though those demands were also bestowed on the entirety of the squad.

And it seems that the French superstar has onboarded those comments with immediate effect.

Indeed, with the game tentatively poised at 1-0 as it entered the final ten minutes on Saturday evening, Mbappe showcased some of the more extravagant weapons in his armoury by embarking on a weaving, jinking run that eventually led to PSG's killer second goal.

The 22-year-old had two defenders blocking his path into the area, but it mattered not.

A quick-witted, dazzling slalom, featuring stepovers, fake shots and a nutmeg, saw Mbappe ghost past both players in the blinking of an eye before he squared the ball for Icardi to emphatically fire beyond the goalkeeper.

It was the type of moment that reminded us of why Mbappe is regarded as a potential heir to the Ronaldo and Messi dynasty.

The 39-cap France international now has 14 goals and eight assists to his name from 20 appearances this season.

Pochettino will surely be relishing the opportunity to work with Mbappe in the coming months and years.
