Chelsea target Neymar is set to sign with the Stamford Bridge club for £23 million, according to reports in The Sun.

Chelsea have long been connected to the Brazilian starlet, particularly after he starred for his country against Scotland in a recent friendly.

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted the club weren’t interested in signing Neymar this season, since Ancelotti has exited the club, Roman Abramovich has been left to decide which transfer targets top Chlesea’s list, and Neymar has been on the owner’s radar for some time.

While the Blues had a £19 million bid rejected for Neymar last summer, an insider has told The Sun that Chelsea are willing to up their bid to £23 million to ensure they sign Neymar as soon as possible.

"Roman is ready to get personally involved to clinch the signing of Neymar," said the insider.

"He's aiming to talk with him next month to prove how much he is wanted."

Should Neymar make the move to Chelsea, the futures of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka will be further in doubt, with an overload of forwards at the club including January signing Fernando Torres.
