Norwich boss Paul Lambert has released Matt Gill, Jens Berthel Askou and Sam Habergham as he prepares for life in the Premier League.

The trio will be out of contract in the summer and Lambert will not be offering them new deals.

Midfielder Gill joined the club from Exeter in 2009 and made 16 appearances, Danish defender Askou played 33 times but was loaned out to Millwall last season and youngster Habergham did not make it to the first team.

"Matt's a great pro, one of the best I've seen," said Lambert.

"Those sort of players are important to have about the place.

"Jens as well, he's going back to Denmark and I'm sure he'll make a career for himself. I'd also like to wish Sam all the best with his future career."
