Reported Arsenal and Tottenham target Gonzalo Higuain is flattered by the interest in his signature, but wants to remain with Real Madrid.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old striker is being monitored but the north London duo, while reports in Italy suggest Juventus are also keeping tabs on the Argentine.

However, despite the alleged interest from Arsenal and Spurs, Higuain will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu - or so says his father.

"A lot of clubs like my son," Jorge Higuain told Tuttosport. "Juventus are one of the most important sides in Europe, but nobody has spoken to us about them.

"We are honoured by their interest, but Gonzalo wants to remain in Spain with Real Madrid."

Although it appears they may miss out on Higuain, both Arsenal and Spurs are expected to sign attacking reinforcements during the transfer window.

Arsenal are thought to be keen to bring in back-up for the injury-prone Robin van Persie and compensate for the likely loss of Nicklas Bendtner.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the bombastic Arsenal forward, although Diego Forlan and Pablo Osvaldo remain more likely targets for the White Hart Lane club.
