Manchester United are close to signing off a deal with Lassana Diarra, as Park Ji-Sung admitted to be considering an exit from Old Trafford, according to the Metro.

Diarra, who played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth before moving to Real Madrid, has been targeted by United for the majority of the season.

But with Park’s recent comments about considering exiting the club for the remainder of his career, Manchester United are particularly desperate to find a long term replacement for the midfielder.

"I won't be able to show my best after one or two years. I don't know how long I can stay at Manchester," Park told the Daily Mirror.

"I never thought about retirement but it's obvious that I don't have much time left as a player.

"According to circumstances, I might leave Manchester United and retire in another team.”

Should Manchester United purchase Diarra, it will be even more likely that Park will depart the title-winning side.
