Barcelona have placed David Luiz on their transfer wishlist, despite the Brazilian only moving to Chelsea in January, according to

Luiz has been a star for Chelsea since moving to the club for £21.3 million, and has particularly outshone fellow January signing Fernando Torres with his ability to quickly adapt to Chelsea's formation.

But Barcelona are said to be moving in on Luiz, with president Sandro Rossell speaking to Luiz’s agent during a Brazil tribute match for Ronaldinho. While Luiz is very settled at Chelsea, his agent reportedly told Rossell that he was open to any offers the Spanish giants had for the star.

Luiz would possibly be interested in a move to Barcelona, as any player would, with the side enjoying unprecedented success over the last three years. But Chelsea will be particularly unhappy at the ‘tapping up’ of their player.

Barcelona were said to have a limited budget this summer, in the vicinity of £40 million, and with their hopeful purchase of Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, the side would surely need to consider offering Chelsea a player as well as cash for Luiz.
