Leeds chairman Ken Bates has warned goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel that he will not be involved in the first-team at Elland Road this season if he rejects a move to Leicester.

United accepted a seven-figure offer from Leicester on Monday and Schmeichel was due to begin negotiations with the Foxes before the end of this week.

Schmeichel reacted by issuing a statement saying he did not want to leave, but Bates has told Schmeichel, whose contract with Leeds ends in 2012, that he has no future at Elland Road.

"We've decided that we're going to sign two new goalkeepers and Kasper will not be first choice," Bates told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"Now he has a decision to make. He either accepts that he's out of the limelight for a year or he goes to Leicester or another club that comes in for him.

"We will be moving on."
