Rochdale skipper Gary Jones has agreed a new contract with the club.
The news will come as a massive boost to Dale fans and new manager Steve Eyre, who has convinced the club['s record appearance holder that his future lies at Spotland.
It is understood Jones was initially offered a one-year contract but, after that was matched by a host of rival clubs, Rochdale went back in with a two-year deal.
Jones, 34, on Tuesday visited Bradford, who had also laid a two-year deal on the table, but has now decided to remain with Rochdale and will put pen to paper on Friday afternoon.
Bradford boss Peter Taylor told the club's official website: "I am disappointed to lose out on Gary, I must admit.
"He would have been an excellent signing, but he is a legend at Rochdale so he obviously wants to continue there and we wish him the best for the future."
