Cristiano Ronaldo will be eager to forget Juventus' 2020/21 Champions League tie against FC Porto. The 36-year-old superstar failed to score in either leg and it was his mistake that helped the Portuguese side net their second crucial away goal in Turin.Ronaldo has been rightly criticised in the aftermath of that game, but the great man responded in pretty epic fashion against Cagliari on Sunday. The Juventus forward scored a perfect hat-trick in the opening 32 minutes of the match and the celebration for the third goal was a clear message to his aforementioned critics. You can watch Ronaldo's two strikes from open play in the videos below.

Well played, Cristiano. Football's record goalscorer now has 57 hat-tricks to his name, which is simply astonishing.

In the build-up to Sunday's game against Cagliari, Ronaldo broke his silence on Instagram and posted a rather powerful message to his millions of followers.

The Portuguese's caption on the post read: “More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet... True champions never break! Our focus is already in Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final and in everything that we can still achieve this season.

“It’s true that the past belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has memory... and so do I! History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence and lots of hard work. And those who don’t understand this, will never achieve glory and success.”

He was certainly true to his word.
