Barcelona may target Manchester United winger Nani for transfer, if a deal for Alexis Sanchez fails, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Sanchez is reportedly discussing terms with Barca but with Manchester City and Chelsea willing to offer more to the Chilean a deal is far from done.

And if the Catalan's don't get their man, they'll reportedly turn their attention to United's Nani.

After making 18 assists and scoring nine goals in the Premier League last season, Nani has quickly become a prized asset at Old Trafford, and won the Players' Player of the Year to cap off a memorable season for the Portuguese international.

However, the recent signing of Ashley Young, a player very much in the mould of Nani, is threatening to unsettle the winger as the battle for places at United hots up next season.

Nani was left out of the starting XI for the Champions League final against Barcelona, and following links with Juventus earlier this summer, Barcelona may test United's resolve.

Despite his impressive performances last season, Nani is seen as something of a scapegoat at the Theatre of Dreams, and United supporters have grown frustrated in the past at the 23-year-old's inability to find a end produce to his dazzling skills.
