Paris Saint-Germain are ready to trump Arsenal and Tottenham in the pursuit of Lille winger Eden Hazard, it has been claimed.

According to talkSPORT, PSG - backed by Abu Dhabi investment - are preparing to steal a march on the north London duo by tabling a significant bid for the Belgium international.

Hazard is one of the most sought after players in Europe after helping Lille win Ligue 1 last season and, along with Arsenal and Spurs, has been linked with Liverpool and Barcelona.

The 20-year-old has been compared to Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri thanks to his nimbleness on the ball and ability to beat players, and is known to have an admirer in Arsene Wenger.

However, the Arsenal boss has previously stated that he would not make a move for the versatile forward until Lille were prepared to sell.

And it would seem unlikely this would be this summer - especially with Gervinho set to leave Lille for Arsenal - unless, of course, a huge offer is made for Hazard.

This could come from PSG, who are beginning to ramp up their transfer activity under their wealthy owners, having already signed Kevin Gameiro from under the noses of Arsenal.

The Paris side have also been linked with a move for former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov, while they are after a number of other high-profile targets.

Spurs, meanwhile, are also unlikely to be able to compete with the financial clout of PSG during this transfer window until squad cut-backs are made by Harry Redknapp.

Midfielder Wilson Palacios and strike duo Roman Pavlyuchenko have been linked with moves away from White Hart Lane to free up extra transfer funds.
