Manchester United star Patrice Evra has sent a warning to transfer target Samir Nasri that should the Arsenal star make the move to Old Trafford, he will be competing with one of the most ambitious sides in the world.

“Each year you are playing to win. That is Manchester’s culture,” Evra said. “If he comes, he has to know there is no room for mistakes.”

Manchester United have so far been the most vocal in the transfer period, signing great young English talent including Ashley Young and Phil Jones.

Along with top keeper David de Gea, Ferguson looks set to make a big midfield signing, and Nasri is high on his wish list.

Evra said that Ferguson has already made some great signings this summer, and they will no doubt take the side closer to Champions League glory next season..

“I think they are great signings,” Evra said, in reference to Jones, Young and De Gea. “We will give them all a nice welcome. I think they’ll be important and I’m very confident about the future.

“After we lost the Champions League final I said that we had lost just a game. But I’m confident about the future, especially with our great new signings, and I think we are going to win it next year. We hope to retain the title but also to win the Champions League.”
