Preston have agreed a deal to sell central defender Sean St Ledger to Leicester for an undisclosed fee.

The Republic of Ireland international will sign a three-year deal after five years and almost 200 appearances for the Lilywhites.

The centre-half has joined the Foxes on a three-year-deal that will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until the summer of 2014.

Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson told the club's official website: "I am very pleased that Sean will be joining us.

"He expressed a real desire to play for Leicester City and I believe he will have a positive impact here at the club.

"Sean is a very good defender and has proven this in league football, but also on the international stage with the Republic of Ireland."
