Stock sets September target

Doncaster captain Brian Stock could be back in action as soon as September, according to Rovers' medical staff.

The 29-year-old was expected to be sidelined until the New Year after having ankle reconstruction surgery earlier this summer.

Stock's recovery is ahead of schedule and the former Preston man will be gradually eased back into contention.

Meanwhile, Billy Sharp and Mustapha Dumbuya are expected to return to training after sitting out the 1-1 draw at Armthorpe on Thursday evening with ankle problems.
