Leyton Orient have signed former Millwall midfielder Marc Laird on a two-year deal.

The O's moved quickly to fill the gap left by the departure of Adam Chambers and Laird has arrived in time for their pre-season friendly at Braintree Town on Tuesday night.

The 25-year old Scot made 92 appearances for the Lions and helped win promotion to the nPower Championship in 2010.

Manager Russell Slade told his club's official website: "Mark has been on our priority list for a long time, so I'm really pleased to bring him to the football club.

"He is a good passer and a decent athlete who will add strength to our squad.

"Marc has played plenty of games at this level too for Millwall, so I'm looking forward to working with him."
