Juventus are hoping to sign Liverpool target Diego Perotti, as Kenny Dalglish searches for a back-up winger should a deal with Stewart Downing fall through, according to Talksport.
Perotti, who is valued at £14 million by Seville, has been the subject of interest from numerous English and European clubs. While Liverpool have reportedly decided that the star is worth £7.5 million, Juventus want to offer an extra £1.5 million to beat their rivals to Perotti.
Stewart Downing is reportedly the number one target at Liverpool now that signings of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have been confirmed by the club. But should the deal fall through, Dalglish has a list of alternative options, and Perotti is first on that list.
But the price discrepancy between Liverpool and Sevilla may be a problem, particularly when Juventus are offering at least closer to what the La Liga club are looking for.
Though, Juventus have been connected to countless players this summer where deals haven’t eventuated, and with Liverpool offering a long term plan that includes challenging for trophies in England and Europe once more, Perotti may be tempted to join the history-rich club during the transfer window after all.
