Accrington have announced the signing of former Shrewsbury midfielder Kevin McIntyre on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old left the Shrews earlier this summer after three years at the club. He has signed a one-year contract with John Coleman's side.

"It's a great little set-up," said McIntyre after training with Stanley this week. "We've been doing double sessions and getting ready for the season so it's all good."

The former Macclesfield man could feature in Saturday's friendly against Blackburn at Morecambe's Globe Arena.
