Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric could be poised for a move to Manchester United, as Spurs fight to keep the star from making a move to Chelsea.

The London Evening Standard is claiming that a host of clubs are chasing Modric, including both United and Spanish club Malaga, and the star will continue to push for a move away from Tottenham this summer as he goes in search of trophies.

United have long been connected with Modric, and for a time the title winners were believed to be front runners to sign the midfielder as a replacement for retiring Paul Scholes.

But Chelsea surged forward over the last few weeks and became favourites to land the star, who has made his intentions clear to leave Tottenham during the transfer period.

But Harry Redknapp is doing everything in his power to keep Modric at White Hart Lane, and should United or Chelsea come forward with another bid, the Tottenham manager will surely continue to turn down the clubs’ advances.
