New Leicester City signing Paul Konchesky is looking forward to the ultimate test for a full back when he comes up against the best winger in the world, in the shape of Cristiano Ronaldo.

During his time in the Premier League, Konchesky came up against the former Manchester United man who will line up for Real Madrid when they visit the King Power Stadium on July 30.

The former Charlton, West Ham, Fulham and Liverpool defender recalls: “I have played against Ronaldo a few times, and I did okay.

"I have given him a go and he has given me a go, so it will be good to come up against him again and test myself against a quality winger like him.

"You want to test yourself against the best and he is one of the best. He has become a better and better player. He is worth £80million.

"It will be good to face him again and it will be a fantastic experience to play against a team like Real Madrid.”

In addition to Ronaldo, Konchesky also singled out Xabi Alonso for individual praise.

Konchesky said that Real’s capture of Alonso, who swapped Anfield for Madrid in the summer of 2009 in a £30 million deal, has hurt Liverpool while Alonso has flourished.

"Xabi Alonso is different class," Konchesky added. "Liverpool missed him when he left and he has gone on to prove how good he is.

"There are some great players there, some of the best players in the world, and it will be a great experience for me, all the lads and the fans."
