Atletico Madrid and Barcelona played out a bore 0-0 draw in their crucial La Liga clash on Saturday afternoon.Luis Suarez played the full 90 minutes against his former side.He was lively throughout but was unable to get on the scoresheet on his return to Camp Nou.While he failed to find a way past Marc-Andre ter Stegen, he did manage to annoy the German goalkeeper with his antics in the first half. The German goalkeeper produced a fine double save to preserve his clean sheet in the 37th minute. He kept out Yannick Carrasco's effort before just managing to get to the rebound before Suarez.Ter Stegen made slight contact with Suarez's head, who sprawled to the ground as if he was in agony. That annoyed the German goalkeeper who immediately confronted his former opponent.

A penalty was not given for Suarez's antics and that was the right call.

Thanks to Marca, we now know what was said between the two in that moment.

"Hey, Luis!" Ter Stegen shouted at Suarez as he appealed to referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz. "Not like that!"

Suarez responded, per the Mirror: Ddid you make contact or not?"

Ter Stegen hit back: "It was my hand. If it is my foot ok, but come on..."

The draw has handed the initiative to Real Madrid in the race for the La Liga title.

Andre-Marc ter Stegen clashed with Luis Suarez in Atletico vs Barcelona

Atletico are currently two points above Barcelona at the summit of the table.

Real are positioned a further point back in third but, thanks to their head-to-head record, will win the title if they win their remaining four games.

It's unlikely that Barca win the title but Gerard Pique is not giving up hope just yet.

"We were hoping to win, but we're still alive," Pique said after the game, per Marca.

"We had more chances, we competed. Seeing how this season has gone, we're still in it and I think we still have a chance of winning [the title].

"I think we'll have a chance if we win our last three games. Our plan is to win all our games and compete until the end.

"It's a shame because we've competed well over the last few months.

"Anything can happen, after what's gone on this season.

"Yes, Real Madrid will be champions if they win their four games [but] the big clubs are struggling for consistency.

"It's a season with lower points totals. [Having] no crowds has evened everything out."
