Leeds transfer rumours: How much Marcelo Bielsa has spent at Elland Road

Marcelo Bielsa on the touchline for Leeds who have spent big since arriving in the Premier League

Marcelo Bielsa is worshipped by Leeds fans and following his appointment in 2018, he has led the club to the dizzy heights of the Premier League.

Since arriving at The Whites, the Argentinian has an expenditure of £105,459,120 on transfers into the club according to Transfermarkt. This equates to about £11.7m per player, with the majority of money spent as Leeds resurfaced to the top flight.

Bielsa’s three biggest Leeds signings

Rodrigo – £27m: Club record signing of Rodrigo was signed with a lot of promise and will have hoped to set the Premier League alight when he joined last summer from Valencia.

The Spaniard has struggled since his move to England having scored just three goals in 22 appearances in the league this season – ten of those coming from the bench as he’s failed to break into the starting side on a regular basis.

He has also struggled with injuries this season having most recently missed 33 days with a groin injury in January, based on figures from Transfermarkt.

Diego Llorente – £18m: The centre-back was signed from Real Sociedad for £18m in the summer of 2020. Despite featuring just 12 times this season in the Premier League, he has impressed with 2.8 tackles per 90 minutes and 1.1 interceptions per game according to WhoScored statistics.

His most memorable moment was a late equaliser against Liverpool which rescued a point for his side.

Raphinha – £16.72m: Arguably one of the signings of the season is the purchase of Raphinha from Stade Rennais. His eye-opening performances have made a mockery of the cheap sum Rennais received for the Brazilian, who has been linked with moves to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old was another summer signing and has shone with 12 goal contributions in his first league season.

Three signings Leeds could make this summer

Noa Lang: According to the Telegraph, Leeds are targeting Club Brugge forward Lang and the latest reports claim he could cost €25m (£21.7m). The Netherlands Under-21 winger has scored 14 goals in the Jupiler Pro League and could be the ideal replacement for Raphinha if the Brazilian were to leave the club.

Omar Colley: Reports from Club Doria have suggested that Leeds have continued to monitor Sampdoria defender Colley who would be let go for around €15m (£13m). Fulham were reportedly close to signing him last September, and he has since been compared to the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli.

Nahitan Nandez: Leeds have not given up on their pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nandez as reported by Centotrentuno. The Italian outlet suggested that if the club returned with a €30m (£26m) offer it could be evaluated carefully. Nandez is a multi-faceted midfielder who can do both creative and defensive sides of the game. According to WhoScored he makes one key pass per league game and also 1.6 tackles each match.
