Arjen Robben was a tad emotional after FC Groningen's 4-0 win over FC Emmen last Sunday. It was a game that saw the legendary Dutch winger make his first competitive start since the opening week of the season after finally recovering from a serious calf issue. But that prolonged absence clearly hasn't impacted the 37-year-old's ability to perform at the highest level, because he dropped a masterclass in the victory over FC Emmen.Robben contributed two assists in the space of 10 second half minutes, his overall display deservedly earning him the Man of the Match award.Receiving the accolade was all a bit much for the former Bayern Munich man, as he couldn't hold back the tears in his post-match interview.“I have come a long way, this is what I wanted. I want to help this club and I want to play football. If I can and succeed, then I am very happy. It has been a long and hard road,” he told ESPN after the Eredivisie clash.“It was tough and difficult but I kept fighting. The reward has to come sometime. I had fun, like a child, and it was also important to the team today.”

Well played, Arjen.

Robben was then asked whether he would consider a call-up from Dutch national team manager Frank de Boer for Euro 2020 this summer after his impressive comeback for Groningen.

"Then I'll come!" he replied to the question. "When I started this last summer, the European Championship was something of my wildest dreams.

"Firstly I want to stay realistic and see how things go in the coming weeks. Then we'll see further."

A 37-year-old Robben lighting up Euro 2020 this summer? Yes. Please.
