Conor McGregor gave one lucky fan the opportunity of a lifetime as he showed a different side to the one we normally see in and around the Octagon.

The Irishman is currently training for his much anticipated trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier on July 10 having lost to the American in their rematch back in January.

With the score between the pair now even at one win apiece, the bout at UFC 246 promises to be must-see and a hugely defining encounter for the lightweight division. It's heavily believed that the winner of McGregor vs Poirier 3 will take on the winner of Michael Chandler vs Charles Oliveira, which takes place this weekend and is for the vacated lightweight title.

McGregor isn't satisfied with just eyeing up Poirier, however.

He has also recently teased the prospect of fighting newly crowned welterweight champion Kamaru Usman during their recent Twitter spat as he looks to recover from his sluggish start to the year.

Of course, McGregor is no stranger to trash talk and slandering his opponents, often degrading them, whether it be on social media, during the press conferences or in the Octagon itself.

This savage and ruthless style has seen McGregor get tagged with a rather brash and arrogant personality, but perhaps it is all for show.

A recent clip on Twitter shows a fan interacting with 'Notorious' in a way we've rarely seen him before.

The fan didn't just want a standard picture with his hero with his arm round him, or a standard clenched fist boxing pose, however. He instead requested a mock face off, similar to that usually witnessed at weigh-ins, and McGregor was more than happy to oblige.

As the two men squared up, both stayed in character as they remained serious and straight faced for the photo/video. Fair play to McGregor as well, he took it very seriously and you could be mistaken in thinking it was a genuine face off for a genuine fight.

Once the image/video was captured, however, McGregor could be seen quickly shifting his attitude as he shook the fan's hand, gave him a big smile and said: "Thank you. My man."

It just shows how loyal McGregor is to his fans and how welcoming he can be, despite his public persona and reputation.

Make no mistake, though, he is unlikely to be as kind to Dustin Poirier come July as he looks to avenge his previous loss.
