Real Madrid were left seething at full-time of their 2-2 draw against Sevilla on Sunday evening. With the scores level going into the final 12 minutes, Real thought they had been given a penalty when Karim Benzema was felled inside the box. However, VAR ruled out the penalty and awarded one to Sevilla instead. The ball struck Eder Militao's shoulder before hitting his hand.Ivan Rakitic stepped up to give Sevilla a 2-1 lead. The game would finish level as Eden Hazard found the net with virtually the last kick of the game. But the draw means that winning the La Liga title is now out of their hands once again.Zinedine Zidane and Toni Kroos were not happy at the final whistle as they confronted the officials.

Gerard Pique saw the scenes after the game and he couldn't resist responding.

He tweeted: "By talking, people understand each other."

Per Marca, that tweet is in response to being criticised for talking to the referees after Barcelona lost to Real Madrid last month.

Luka Modric questioned Pique as he made his way to confront Gil Manzano.

"[You're going] to complain now, eh?" Modric said to Pique.

The defender sought to highlight the irony that it is now Real Madrid doing the same thing.

"Nothing [the referee] said to me has convinced me. I never talk to the referee, but today I'm angry."

Real Madrid are now in second, two points behind Atletico with three games remaining.

They need their fierce rivals to slip up if they are to retain the La Liga title.
