According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester are set to complete a deal for Lille's Boubakary Soumare.

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Boubakary Soumare?

The Lille midfielder has been tipped to make a switch to the Premier League this summer as Leicester look set to clinch his signature, based on reports from Romano.

What is Soumare's potential?

At just 22-years-old Soumare's ceiling is high and he could become a mainstay in Leicester's midfield for years to come.

The midfielder has contributed to Lille's impressive season which has them placed at the summit in the Ligue 1 table and just two games away from beating PSG to the title.

The Frenchman has made 30 appearances and has emerged as one of the key components to Lille's defensive stability.

The side that sit top of the league have conceded just 22 goals in 36 games which is the best defensive record in the French top flight.

Soumare has impressed defensively in Ligue 1 and has made 1.4 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game.

What other positions could Leicester look to strengthen this summer?

Leicester have had an injury ridden season despite their strong position in the league table and once they have a fully fit squad they could be an even greater threat to their Premier League rivals.

Harvey Barnes had an exceptional start to the season prior to being sidelined scoring nine league goals, however Leicester lack adequate natural cover.

Last summer Sky Sports reported that Leicester were one of many clubs interested in Burnley winger Dwight McNeil. Rodgers was reportedly keen to add another left footed player to his attacking ranks, although a move never materialised.

In the upcoming window the club could do a lot worse than recruiting McNeil who would be a natural fit for the left wing as well as some much needed depth if the club are to qualify for the Champions League.

McNeil could also offer another option to the right wing for Leicester, who only have Ayoze Perez and Marc Albrighton as viable options at present.
