Bolton midfielder Chung-Yong Lee was carried off during the first half of the club's pre-season friendly against Newport County on Saturday with what looked like a serious leg injury.

Lee, 23, was left in agony following a challenge from Newport midfielder Tom Miller and after treatment from paramedics he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher with his right leg strapped in a brace.

The South Korea international has been a consistent performer for Bolton since his move to the Reebok in 2009 and it remains to be seen if he will miss the start of the new Barclays Premier League season.
