Dons near Bent deal

AFC Wimbledon could be about to sign former Everton striker Marcus Bent.

The 33-year-old, who is a free agent after he was released by Birmingham at the end of last season, is understood to have held talks with Dons boss Terry Brown.

Brown has been on the look-out for a forward since last term's top scorer Danny Kedwell left for Gillingham.

Bent started his career at Brentford and has played for 14 clubs including Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Blackburn and Charlton.

Brown said: "We are looking to get a striker in."
