West Ham and Charlton have rearranged their Carling Cup first-round ties against Aldershot and Reading respectively.

The match at Upton Park has been rearranged for Wednesday 24 August at 7.45pm, while the fixture at The Valley has been rescheduled for Tuesday 23 August with kick-off at 7:45pm.

The match has been postponed following a police request due to the ongoing riots in London.

West Ham must now focus their attention on their trip to Doncaster on Saturday 13 August, while the Shots welcome Northampton on the same date.

Charlton's next match is now away at Notts County on Saturday 13 August while Reading will now start preparations for their trip to Leicester on the same date.
