Arsenal target Juan Mata could make the move from Valencia to London, Metro claims, with the Gunners finding a way to afford the winger’s €23 million fee.

The Gunners have reportedly decided that they will agree to sell Samir Nasri, and will use the money from his sale to make the purchase of Mata.

While Arsenal have long insisted that they will hold onto Nasri, Arsene Wenger is said to have relaxed his stance over the playmaker, and hopes that by bringing Mata to Arsenal, he will be able to create a team of loyal players who will stop at nothing to end the side’s now six-season long trophyless run.

Nasri is said to be worth a staggering £25 million, and could fund Mata’s purchase, along with Nicklas Bendtner’s transfer fee if needed.

Arsenal admitted yesterday that they are looking to bolster their squad further before the transfer window ends, and if Wenger is willing to sell Nasri to gain Mata, the Gunners manager must be very sure that Mata can help create an unstoppable forward line next season.
